INTRODUCTION
Located on a green hill of Dalat city,
the University of Dalat offers peace and
quiet – an ideal atmosphere for learning and research.
The University of Dalat was initially
founded in 1958. After reunification of the country (1975), the university of
Dalat was established on the basis of the initial university, and has become a
multi-field public university with more 10,000 students.
At present, the University of Dalat
offers a graduate program in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History,
Philology and over 30 programs at the undergraduate level. In addition,
doctoral degree program in mathematics is offered.
In 2011, the Nuclear Engineering
Department was founded. The establishment of Nuclear Engineering Department in
University of Dalat is to educate and prepare manpower for:
- The nuclear energy program in Vietnam.
- Application of nuclear technique to
development of economy for Vietnam.
The Nuclear Engineering Department in
University of Dalat is planning to start accepting students in the next
academic year (2012-2013), thus graduating its first class in 2016, this is the
period that Vietnam will be the building of its first nuclear power plant.
AIMS/OBJECTIVES
The
objectives of the Nuclear Engineering Department are to:
- Educate students in the fundamental
subjects necessary for a career in nuclear engineering
- Educate students in the basic of nuclear
technology, radiation measurement and nuclear reactors
- Educate students in the methodology of
nuclear plants program in Vietnam
- Prepare students for advanced education in
nuclear engineering and other related fields.
GRADUATION
THESIS
For graduation, student should submit a
graduation thesis. However, graduation thesis can be substituted by graduation
composite examination.
CURRICULUM
A four and half year program comprising
150 credits leading to the degree of bachelor of engineering (B.Eng.) in
nuclear engineering. Students may choose one of the
following three fields:
- Nuclear reactor and
Nuclear energy
- Radioenvironmental
monitoring and control
- Applied nuclear
engineering
